  1. Cursor Projects

    • Projects are rolling out in beta from the left-hand nav for larger efforts such as features and migrations.
    • A project coordinator plans work and delegates implementation to agents that can run in parallel, then brings the results back for review.
    • Projects run on cloud computers and can use local agents for testing on your machine. Project files sync across the machines its agents use.
    • Subscriptions let a coordinator watch a Slack channel, run on a schedule, or follow PRs and act without a prompt.

  2. Self-hosted machines

    • Self-hosted machines let agents execute tools on your own infrastructure, keeping code, build outputs, and secrets on internal machines.
    • My Machines connects a laptop or VM for personal workflows; Team pools queue requests across available workers and can hibernate idle machines.
    • Cloud agents can run on existing sandboxes, including AWS Lambda, Coder, Cloudflare, Daytona, Modal, Namespace, Vercel, and E2B.
    • Self-hosted workers support computer use on Linux and Mac, including browser interaction, screenshots, desktop viewing, and taking control from Cursor.

  3. Start from scratch, without a repo

    • Cloud Agents can start without a connected GitHub or other SCM provider: select Start from scratch in the repo picker and prompt the agent.
    • Use Create repo to save the agent’s work as an Origin repo with a custom or suggested name and private or internal visibility.
    • Preview a cloud agent’s live environment in the browser through port forwarding, including with design mode.
    • Connect a Vercel account to publish the project to a live URL.

  4. Cloud Agents and Cursor Harness Improvements

    • Heads upCloud agents can subscribe to PRs, Slack threads, and scheduled tasks. They now automatically subscribe to PRs they create to address CI failures and bot comments.
    • Use any skill as a Custom Mode that stays pinned in chat. Pick a skill from / and choose **Use as Mode** or press ⌥⏎ on Mac or Alt+Enter on Windows.
    • Subagents can run on separate virtual machines, each with an isolated project copy and clean context.
    • Use /goal to give an agent an objective to pursue until it is complete.
    • Follow-up messages sent while an agent is working now wait for its next tool call instead of interrupting the current action.

  5. Origin Code Hosting

    • Heads upOrigin code hosting is rolling out in early beta on paid plans, except enterprise orgs whose admins opt out.
    • Create an Origin repo from the Codebase tab, then clone it or push a local project using the CLI. Origin is the source of truth for hosted repos.
    • Sync selected GitHub repos to Origin for browsing, searching, and pulling. GitHub remains the source of truth, and pushes still go to GitHub.
    • Review, comment on, and merge pull requests in Cursor. Comments and replies on synced repos sync with GitHub in both directions.
    • Agents can answer questions about a repo, make changes, update PRs, and push branches. Repo apps include Vercel previews and Depot or Buildkite CI.

  6. Cloud Agents Start 3x Faster with Builds

    • Heads upCloud Agents now start from prepared Builds, with 3x faster time to first token. New environments use Builds automatically.
    • For an existing environment, use **Enable Builds** in the Cloud Agents dashboard’s Builds tab, or use **Run setup agent** first to test the migration.
    • A failed Build does not replace the last successful one, so agents can keep using the working environment.
    • The Builds tab shows build status, logs, commit SHAs, and which build each agent run used. You can also trigger Builds manually and configure when stale Builds refresh.

  7. Google Workspace Plugins

    • New Google Drive, Gmail, and Google Calendar plugins let agents access files, mail, and schedules and take actions such as creating files, sending messages, and updating events. Install them from the Cursor Marketplace or the Customize page.

  8. Cursor, now on iPad

    • Cursor for iPad is available on all paid plans, with pinned chats, split-screen review, full file diffs, and screenshot markup with Apple Pencil.
    • On iPhone and iPad, review full PRs, including comments, checks, approvals, and reviewer changes; prompt an agent to resolve comments.
    • A new Inbox on iPhone and iPad shows work in progress, items needing attention, and PRs in review.
    • The iPhone and iPad apps now support Bitbucket and Azure DevOps SCM.
    • On iPhone and iPad, open every PR created by a chat and switch between your teams in the app.

  9. Cursor Start

    • Heads upCursor Start is a new plan for developers in India at ₹649 per month, tax inclusive, billed in INR by UPI or card with auto-renewal. It is available from July 28, 2026.
    • Start includes access to Grok and Composer, always-on cloud agents, Cursor for iOS with remote control, and plugins, MCP servers, hooks, and skills. Existing Free users in India can upgrade from the dashboard; new users can select Start during signup.

  10. Cursor Router

    • Heads upAuto mode now uses Cursor Router to select a model for each request. It is on by default for Teams plans; Enterprise admins can enable it from the dashboard.
    • Heads upAuto now offers Cost, Balance, and Intelligence optimization modes. Balance and Intelligence bill at the routed model’s rate.
    • Admins can enable the router by team or group, restrict modes, set a default mode, allow or block models, and use soft or hard enforcement for Auto.
    • Heads upCursor lists Grok 4.5 as a required price-efficient routing option; admins restricting models should keep it allowed.
